Uralla Driving Tour

Travel out to Dangar Falls and wander through Oxley Wild Rivers National Park.  The views are spectacular and the walking is as easy or as hard as you would like. Head back towards Uralla and visit the quaint little chapel at Gostwyck.  Truly a must see during the change of seasons. Across the river is Deargee Shearing Shed which is an amazing piece of early architecture. (Tourist Drive 19)

Dangars Lagoon on Thunderbolts Way caters to the bird enthusiast with many different species of waterbirds on display.  Make sure you read about the history of the Lagoon which is a large part of Uralla's heritage.

Turtle Toddle Heritage Walk

This easy walk encompasses some of the early heritage buildings located around Uralla township. Most of the buildings are now private residences, but retain their early architectural styles, Free maps are available from the Visitors Information Centre

Mt Yarrowyck

Mount Yarrowyck Nature Reserve and Aboriginal Rock Art site is located approximately 25.2kms from Uralla, along the Thunderbolt Way through Rocky River. The return walk to the Aboriginal Rock Art site from the car park is approx 3 kms along a loop walking track.  It can be completed at a leisurely pace in anything from one to three or more hours.

Car parking and B.B.Q. facilities are provided. (Check local fire restrictions).

Museum Tours

Visit a variety of museums in Uralla and Armidale.

In Uralla, McCrossins Mill with its Thunderbolt and Chinese Displays (open 12 noon - 5pm daily Weekends, Public Hols and School Hols 10-5), Hassett's Military Museum with a collection of memorabilia, weapons and equipment (9-5 daily), The Brass and Iron Lace Foundry (9-5 most days including weekends), which is a living museum and still producing iron lace for restoration projects using the original moulds.

In Armidale the Printing Museum with a large collection of printing equipment is located in the New England Regional Art Museum.
